A GREAT scene from one of the best children’s show of ALL TIME. Kukla, Fran and Ollie.

A great classic oldie for all generations, young and old could enjoy this! Definitely a laugh out loud show.  Kukla, Fran and Ollie was started in 1949 and ran all the way into the mid 60’s. The show never lost it’s humor and the cast never lost the magic.

A scene from the Judy Garland Show with Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand singing “Happy Days/Get Happy”.   Every time I watch this I get goosebumps.

One of my favorite scenes from one of Gene Kelly’s least known musicals, “Always Fair Weather”

Here he shows everyone that tapping and rolling skating can go hand in hand. True genius.

Jack Benny and Frank Nelson in a skit on the Jack Benny Program.

Jack Benny was an amazing Comedian, widely recognized as one of the leading American entertainers of the 20th century, Benny played the role of the comic penny-pinching miser, insisting on remaining 39 years old on stage despite his actual age, and often playing the violin badly.

Shirley Temple singing “When I Grow Up”. Shirley Temple, an American film and television actress, singer, dancer, autobiographer, and former U.S. Ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia. She began her film career in 1932 at the age of three, and in 1934, skyrocketed to superstardom in her movie “Bright Eyes”

Ah, beware of snobbery; it is the unwelcome recognition of one’s own past failings.”
- Cary Grant -

Not only one of the best shows on television but a true classic scene from “Barney Fife” (Don Knotts)trying to recite the Preamble to the Constitution.

The Andy Griffith Show starred Andy Griffith, Don Knotts and Ron Howard. Don Knotts recently passed in ‘06 leaving behind an enormous legacy of comedy and family fun!

Ella Fitzgerald was a popular female singer of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s era. One of my favorites, Tisket a Tasket was her first single recorded at the age of 18. This was of course a later version.

Dubbed “The First Lady of Song,” Ella Fitzgerald was the most popular female jazz singer in the United States for more than half a century. In her lifetime, she won 13 Grammy awards and sold over 40 million albums.

“Put on Your Sunday Clothes” is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Simply because everytime I hear it, it makes me happy.

Again, from the 1969 movie “Hello Dolly”.

Fun Fact: This song was used for the opening of the hit Pixar-Disney movie “Wall-E”

A scene from the 1969 movie “Hello Dolly”. Although it doesn’t exactly qualify as an “Oldie” it is a very important movie. For the simple reason of an iconic scene with both my favorites Barbra Streisand and Louis Armstrong. The song is not only sung with such a beautiful voice but I put this in here simply for the reason most younger people have no idea of this movie and it’s sad because Barbra is now becoming an unknown among the younger generation. Something we can’t let happen!
